Who is an Optometrist ?

An OPTOMETRIST is a primary health care professional who is institutionally educated and clinically trained in art and science of optometry.
A professional education in optometry (Ophthalmic Optics) is necessary to efficiently manage and optical trade including primary eye care and dispensing of spectacles.

WHAT CAN AN OPTOMETRIST DO ?

Optometrist is a first point of contact in eye care spectrum few of responsibilities are :-


  • Examine the eye and visual system.

  • Diagnose the visual problems

  • Prescribe and provide corrective treatment in form of spectacles.

  • Can explore themselves in the field of occupational optometry (Computer Vision Syndrome)
